1 John 2:17

Preach! (insert praise hands emojis)
God has just been planting little seeds of reminders in my life lately. He's all like "hello, I'm still here and I will never leave you!"
Let me back up, I like to shop. It should come as no surprise.
So, not by my own conviction, I was prompted to write out all my spendings from last month with Taylor.
ouch. double ouch
It was then and over the course of a few days I realized where my treasures lie.
We are starting to look into moving into a bigger place, and without a little change in our budget that can't happen. When I wrote out where all my money was going I realized my treasures lie in that instant gratification of buying something that I think will make me happy for only a second.
Thus began my intentional praying for God to break me of this terrible habit so that I can use my money for His glory and not my own.
I can't claim to love God and also love items of this world, items that I particularly spend more time with than in prayer.
I am thankful for a God that nudges me along the way to get me back on track and a perfect God that will never leave me no matter how many times I fail him.
So here's to my new budget app and spending more time in my daily devotional than online shopping.

I'm on my second cup of coffee writing this on a Sunday afternoon. I worked night shift last night at the hospital and my eyes are tired. This second cup of coffee though has jolted me and I am feeling inspired to write a currently post!
All the writing and reading I am doing for graduate school has made the blog suffer a bit. After writing a 3 page paper almost every week the last thing I want to do if do a forced post that seems fake.
I wanna keep it real on the blog.
Also, I downloaded a new budgeting app called Daily Budget (love + super easy layout) on my phone and it has me running a tight ship. I don't pretend to have all the money to buy all the things but running this blog and trying to keep up (whew) was starting to hurt our bank account. So drastic measures are being taken and you may see a change in the blog as I figure out what matters most to me.

Reading: I've just finished the famous Me Before You, it is absolutely a chick flick book and I suggest you give it a shot. I've also heard the movie follows very closely with the book which I always appreciate. I am now on to Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore, I am very intrigued by it and heard it's kind of quirky.
Watching: Bachelorette, duh! Please don't give me any spoilers! I have a friend at work who always looks up the spoilers and it drives me crazy! :)
Planning: I have a girls beach trip coming up in July. I haven't been on an all girls trip since my bachelorette party. I am so excited, it's a group of super sweet girls! We are going to have a lot of fun!
Buying: I just purchased a couple of items from Lush and also sent my mother in law some things too. She loves bath bombs. I cannot wait to try all of them out (post in the future)!
Loving: even though I am in school there is something about summer that gives off a carefree vibe, everyone is just in that mood and I love it.

Happy Monday!

The Jetset Diaries Dress

I find that I get my surge of inspiration in the mornings when Taylor is sleeping in and I am sitting in front of a blank screen with my cup of joe. I love writing this blog and I love that I can write just about whatever I want in it too.
With that said, I just want to say thanks for reading and I hope it encourages and inspires you!

This wrap dress came to me from one of my Le tote's! I wore it to the annual Magic City Brewfest and received so many compliments! The fringe bag also went with the boho look!

This past weekend served for some much needed R&R.
We stayed in Friday night and watch one our favorite movies, Once. It's the first movie we ever watched together. Taylor picked it out and told me it was a "sweet romantic movie". He's always been a charmer, and I am thankful that he still knows how to make my stomach have butterflies.
On Saturday we headed to the Pepper Place market here in Birmingham and picked up a few local treats for everyone in the family. That night was spent celebrating with family as we married off my cousin out on their farm. It was a hot Alabama summer wedding!
Sunday consisted of church, brunch at home -made by yours truly- bacon, eggs, fruit, and birthday cake pancakes (sprinkles). It was no one's birthday but hey, that doesn't matter does it?
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

It's Thursday and that means one more day until the weekend! Taylor and I are going to a wedding this Saturday but the rest of the weekend we have no plans. It feels good to not have a full weekend sometimes. That way we can lounge around in our pjs all day or hit the pool with friends, who knows where the hot Alabama wind will take us.
Anyone have an good suggestions of events going on in Birmingham?

I think it's no secret I love a trendy get up but there is something about this classic outfit that I just die over. The colors go together perfectly and the fact that they are both solid makes it a classic look. Of course I spiced it up with the floral wedges, and I love the lace detail in the back of this top.

I am in week 5 of graduate school and I can tell.
Things other than school are starting to get a little neglected... coughblogcough.
I know school is important and mostly the top priority, but so is my blog. I started this blog committed to post often and I am going to continue to do so.
Just know that if you are juggling 12 things at once but sometimes forget to vacuum or maybe even forget to feed your dog, that it's gonna be okay.
You don't have to have it all together all the time.
But hopefully you eventually remembered to feed the dog, or have an awesome husband that remembers for you.

Okay, so this top I received from my Le Tote. It is Cupcakes and Cashmere brand (go check out her blog too) and I have recently fallen in love with her and her clothing line. She has the most precious and cute items! New fave brand!

If you still haven't heard or tried out Le tote I suggest you try it!

Weekend Ready

Happy Friday everyone!! This weekend Taylor and I have so many fun events going on. Tonight we are heading to Magic City Brewfest. To sum it up it's basically a festival of beer and food trucks, Taylor's mecca. Then Saturday we are off to Pepper Place Market for the first time this year, we will probably take the Zyp Bikes to it.

This outfit is perfect for heading out on a Saturday to the Market, this top is super breezy. These red slides are the perfect addition to this outfit. I am obsessed with this type of sandal this summer. They are so easy and can be dressed up or down. The necklace and bracelet I am wearing comes from Noonday Collection, their jewelry helps create jobs all around the world. I love shopping for a cause!

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
